You have just arrived in France with a 'STUDENT' long-stay D VISA (VLS-TS)
from the French embassy/consulate in your country.

You must obtain the validation of your VISA within the 3 months after your arrival in France
on the official website 'Administration for Foreign Nationals in France' (ANEF):

You will need :

  • A valid email address
  • The information appearing on your visa
  • Your date of entry in France
  • Your residential address in France
  • Your payment card in order to pay online the tax for residence permit delivery
    (other payment methods available on the website)

Careful :
If you don’t complete this process within the 3 months after your arrival in France,
you will be considered as illegal on the territory,

therefore you won’t be allowed to enter the Schengen area again.

The visa together with the attestation you get after the registration process acts as your residence permit.


You must apply for the renewal of your residence permit from 2 to 4 months

prior to the expiry date of your VISA/residence permit.
(Example: your VISA/residence permit expires on September 1st 2021:
you must apply for renewal between May 1st 2021 and July 1st 2021)
