What is the Boutique des Sciences?

A linking up of organisations from civil society and the academic world
The emergence of collaborative research projects

Created in the 1970s, the Boutiques des Sciences help researchers and organisations from civil society to set up innovative research projects together that use a combination of academic expertise and public skills. They are an independent, not-for-profit research scheme serving the common good. The term 'boutique' is the outcome of an unfortunate translation of the English word 'shop' ('Science Shop'), which can also refer to a 'workshop' (atelier) or 'factory' (fabrique).
